Admissions to IQRA programmes are announced before the beginning of each semester i.e

Spring January to May
Fall August to December

Announcement of Admissions campaign is declared in the leading news papers nation-wide two months before the commencement of classes.

Admissions at IQRA University are based 100% on merit. Students applying for different disciplines must clear the admission test and the interview. Admission test is split into four sections:

Quantative Analysis, English Language, General Knowledge, IQ, Drawing Test (Only for Media Science Students)

OR

TOEFL IBT with 90 or TOEFL CBT with 570 or IELTS with Band 6 and SAT-1 with 1200, Drawing Test (Only for Media Science Students)

IQRA University is committed to working with all deserving students to assist them in financing their graduate education. Our financial aid programme includes need-based grants and scholarships, merit-based fellowships, educational loans, work-study and teaching assistantships.

IQRA offers freeships (100% tuition fee off) to all position holders of all the National Boards and Universities in the programmes of their choice in the first semester.

Merit Scholarships are awarded each semester to position holders on the basis of CGPA earned with full semester load.

Qualifications required for Bachelor’s Programme:

    • Applicants should have minimum higher 2nd division in Higher Secondary School Certificate or equivalent from a recognized Institute/Board.
    • Applicants having “A” levels or other foreign qualifications must provide an equivalence certificate issued by the Intermediate Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC).
    • For admission in BS(CS), an applicant must have:
        • At least 50% marks in Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) Pre-Engineering Examination. An applicant having a combination of Physics, Mathematics and Computer Sciences is also eligible.
        • Or, GCE (A levels) in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Applicants having A levels or other foreign qualifications must provide an equivalence certificate with at least 50% marks, issued by Intermediate Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC).
        • Or, At least 50% marks in Diploma of Associate Engineering Examination, for admission.

Qualifications required for Medical Programme:

    • Applicants should have minimum higher 60% marks in Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) Pre-Medical Examination.
    • Applicants having “A” levels or other foreign qualifications must provide an equivalence certificate issued by Intermediate Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC).
    • Or, GCE (A levels) in Biology, Physics and Chemistry. Applicants having A levels or other foreign qualifications must provide an equivalence certificate with at least 60% marks, issued by Intermediate Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC).

Transfer Students

The determination of acceptability of credit for course work completed at another recognized Institution of higher learning is made solely at the discretion of Iqra University. The evaluation of any course work or exam from another Institution for acceptance by the University will be based only on an official transcript from the institution originally offering the course work or exam.

    • Credit is not given for grades lower than a C+ or 67%.
    • All prospective transfer students must complete Iqra University’s entrance requirements.
    • Grades from other institutions are not included in the calculation of Iqra
    • Principally the maximum credits for work done before joining the Iqra University will be considered only up to 50% of the Bachelor’s and Master’s program to which the application is being made.
    • The course work being sought for credit transfer has been completed at a HEC recognized educational institution.
    • Credit Transfer cases will not be entertained after a student has started the program of study.
    • Remedial, vocational, technical, highly specialized and personal development courses are not accepted for credit.
    • All transfer courses taken at bachelor level from Polytechnic Institutions with degree awarding status and foreign community Institutes that can award degrees will be reviewed individually by the Head of the Department and any transfers must be approved by the Dean.
    • Students are advised to check with the Admissions Office and Head of Department to determine the acceptability of credit from other Institutions. Acceptability of transfer credits to a student’s academic curriculum is determined by the Head of the Department where the application is being made.

Conditions for Course Transfer

    • If the course content is similar to the course content at Iqra to the extent of a minimum 60%, the course credit will be considered for transfer.
    • A lower level degree course is non transferable to higher level degree program such as a course done at Bachelors level is non transferable to Master program.
    • A course exempted elsewhere is non transferable until and unless it is pursued as a regular course.
    • Student left with up to 6 Credit Hours, i.e. 2 Courses to complete his degree program will be allowed transfer of credits from any recognized international universities with following semesters and conditions
    • The university should be recognized by the local Government of Education, with atleast 60% course content similar to Iqra University.
    • The student will take prior permission from the University for the courses he requires to do for completion of degree program.
    • Remedial, vocational, technical, highly specialized and personal development courses are not accepted for credit.

Course Exemption

    • If any student is awarded with exemption in any of his course based on his past academic than that course will be replaced by another course. The course exemption will not reduce the total number of required courses or credit hours.
    • The decision of the Registrar in accepting or rejecting a case of course exemption will be final.
    • In case of exemption a course exemption form must be properly filled.

Admission Requirement

    • Step 2: Fill the Form and submit it to IU Admission Department with the following:

        • Six passport size photographs.
        • 2 Attested photocopies of Matriculation Marks sheet/ O’ levels Marks sheet.
        • 2 Attested photocopies of Matriculation Board certificate.
        • 2 Attested photocopies of Intermediate Mark sheet Certificate/ A’ levels Mark sheet.
        • 2 Attested photocopies of Intermediate Board Certificate.
        • 2 Attested photocopies of Equivalence certificate issued by IBCC (in case of foreign qualifications).
        • 2 Attested photocopies of Bachelor’s Marks Sheet. (for Master’s applicants only)
        • 2 Attested photocopies of Bachelor’s Degree. (for Master’s applicants only).
        • 2 Attested photocopies of Equivalence certificate issued by Higher Education Commission in case of foreign Degree. (for Master’s applicants only)
        • 2 Attested photocopies of Master’s Mark Sheet. (for MPhil. and PhD applicants only)
        • 2 Attested photocopies of Master’s Degree. (for MPhil. and PhD applicants only)
        • Pay order of Rs. 1000/- only in the name of Iqra University
        • In case of result/ final document awaiting applicants:

            • 2 Attested photocopies of part-1 marksheet/ Previous gradesheets
          • 2 Attested photocopies of part-2 admit card/ Statement of entry
